Recipe type: Nut butter
Serves: approximately 1 cup nut butter
Ingredients
  • 2 cups honey roasted mixed nuts (can substitute honey roasted peanuts)
  • 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. Add nuts to high speed blender (such as a Vitamix) or food processor. Process until the nuts have broken down into a paste. You will need to use the tamper (if using a blender) or spatula (if using food processor) to scrape down the sides. Add in the oil and continue to process until a smooth, creamy nut butter forms. This will take a total of approximately 3-5 minutes if using a Vitamix, but may take up to 10-15 minutes if using a food processor. Store in fridge to keep fresh.*
  2. *Homemade nut butter never lasts long in our house, even if I'm the only one eating it! Homemade nut butter should easily keep for up to 1 month if covered/sealed tightly and kept in refrigerator. However, I doubt it will last that long! This usually disappears within a week :)
